 KyraMinturn Sedgwickwas born on August 19, 1965 is an American actress. Her most prominent character is that of the Deputy Chief Brenda Leigh Johnson, on TNT's crime series The Closer. Sedgwick was awarded a Golden Globe Award and an Emmy Award for her portrayal as Johnson in 2007. The series ended following the seventh season. Sedgwick is also known for her role in the show in the role of Madeline Wuntch, on the sitcom Brooklyn Nine-Nine. Sedgwick received nominations for a Golden Globe award for her performance in Something to Talk About (1995).
